Define your line

Separate lengths with commas. Positive draws a dash, negative leaves a gap and zero draws a dot. For example, 8,-3,0,-3 gives a dash followed by a dot.
Load your .LIN first, then run SCRIPT and select the .SCR file. It creates or selects a layer named after the style and assigns its linetype and lineweight. Use ByLayer on objects and enable LWDISPLAY to see weights on screen. Labels use the drawing’s STANDARD text style. CAD symbols use ltypeshp.shx. The centreline character uses the STANDARD text style. Choose a font containing ℄ if it appears as a box.

How to use custom linetypes

  1. Choose a preset. Edit the repeat values until the preview shows the spacing you need. Each preview fits four repeats to the window.
  2. Name and download the file. If you download the bundle, extract it first.
  3. In AutoCAD enter LINETYPE, select Load → File and open the downloaded LIN file. Select the definition and confirm.
  4. Assign the style to a layer, draw a line on it using ByLayer and check the plot preview. Start with linetype scale 1 and adjust for your drawing units.
