Loading and scaling custom AutoCAD linetypes
Load a LIN file, apply its definition to a layer and diagnose a dashed line that appears continuous.
Load the definition
Extract the ZIP into a project folder. Enter LINETYPE, choose Load, then File, and browse to a .lin file. Select the named definition and confirm. Loading adds it to the drawing’s available linetypes.
Apply it to a test line
Assign the loaded style to a layer in Layer Properties. Draw a line on that layer with its object linetype set to ByLayer. Start with a line long enough to show several complete repeats.
Check the plotted result
If the pattern looks solid, check the line length, object linetype scale and drawing-wide LTSCALE. Change one setting at a time and run REGEN. Compare a layout plot preview against your legend before applying the style throughout a drawing.
